When tasked with designing a bespoke in-frame kitchen for this Northern Ireland home, our designer, Jonny Orr, knew that craftsmanship and functionality had to be at the heart of the project. “The homeowners visited our showroom with a clear vision: they wanted a traditional in-frame kitchen that would stand the test of time. With a young family, durability was a priority, and they opted for a hand-painted finish to ensure lasting beauty”.
Tailored Finishes and Thoughtful Details
With the architect’s plans already in place—including a spacious walk-in pantry—the layout allowed for a stunning central island. This island became a focal point, offering ample workspace and storage while enhancing the flow of the room.
Attention to detail is what sets a Daniel George kitchen apart. In this project, custom elements like a scalloped plinth around key working areas and ornate oak posts on the island added unique character. Clever storage solutions extended beyond the kitchen, with a handcrafted media cabinet, a boot room, and an upstairs laundry area designed to complement the main space.
The utility room, painted in Railings by Farrow & Ball, offers a functional yet stylish space for household tasks. It includes ample cabinetry for storage, a secondary sink for convenience, and bespoke joinery that ties seamlessly into the overall design of the home. The combination of classic craftsmanship and smart storage solutions ensures this space is both practical and visually appealing.
