These homeowners collaborated with kitchen designer Jonny Orr from Daniel George Kitchens to create a practical and sociable space for their family. Their aim was to achieve a timeless and unfussy design using high-quality materials to create a bespoke finish.
The island became the hub of the room, with its large surface area and sink perfect for meal prep, supervising homework, or enjoying a cup of coffee. SThe homeowners wanted everything to be close at hand, with a natural order and everything easy to find.
Siemens appliances were chosen, including a tall integrated fridge and freezer, a compact oven with warming drawer, an induction hob, and an integrated under-bench fridge in the walk-in pantry.
The neutral color scheme featured hand-painted cabinetry in Paint and Paper Library’s Tartalan, oak dovetail drawers, and Lamont Stone Mykonos Granite worktops.
The inclusion of the walk-in pantry and utility room provided ample storage space, and the pantry even had a sink and a fridge. The homeowners appreciated the practicality of the space, and the slide door in the pantry hid any mess.
To give the kitchen a fully-furnished look, the tall fridge and freezer doors had central panels that matched the doors on the oven units, and the island had a bespoke curved back to complement the curved doors. The feature piece of stone behind the hob was also given some curve to blend it into the upstands at either side. The overall effect was a warm and welcoming space with a timeless design and a wow factor.
