Daniel George Kitchens: A Journey in Craftsmanship and Quality

At Daniel George Kitchens, we focus on creating well-crafted kitchens that become the heart of homes across the UK and Ireland. With over fifty years in the kitchen industry, our journey from a small factory in Northern Ireland to being a leader in kitchen manufacturing is a story of dedication, tradition, and a commitment to quality.

Our Beginnings

Our journey began in 1968 when Alfie Daniel Orr and Willy George started what would become a key player in kitchen design in Ireland. Initially, we operated as a trade-only retailer under the Inspired Furniture Ltd brand. Over time, we transitioned to working directly with clients under the Daniel George name, offering kitchens that combine beauty with practicality.

The legacy continued with Hugh Orr, who joined the business to build on the foundations laid by Alfie and Willy. In 2002, Jonathan Orr and Ronnie McCulloch took over, bringing new ideas and direction. Their efforts led to a significant change in 2020 when we opened Daniel George Kitchens to the public, allowing us to offer our expertise directly to homeowners.

Our Showroom and Factory

Our showroom, located in Coagh near Cookstown, Northern Ireland, is a place where customers can see the full range of our kitchen designs. It’s situated in front of the same factory where we started in 1975. This allows customers to explore our kitchens and then see firsthand how each piece is made in our factory.

Willy George, one of the founders, still works with us, ensuring that the values of quality and craftsmanship remain at the core of everything we do. By manufacturing our kitchens in-house, we can offer direct service to our customers, providing guidance and advice throughout the process.

The People Behind Daniel George Kitchens

Ronnie McCulloch began his career at 17 with a passion for woodworking. His career took off when he joined Orlee Kitchens under the mentorship of Willy George. Recently, Ronnie was recognised for his contributions to the kitchen industry with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Ulster Tatler Anniversary Dinner.

Jonathan Orr grew up in the kitchen industry, influenced by his family’s involvement. After gaining experience abroad, Jonathan returned to Northern Ireland and became a key figure in the business, leading to the creation of Daniel George Kitchens. Together with Ronnie, he has guided the company to become known for its high-quality, handcrafted kitchens.

Beyond Kitchens

While kitchens are our main focus, we have also expanded our offerings to include media units and other joinery elements. This allows us to provide solutions for other areas of the home, ensuring the same level of quality and craftsmanship throughout.

With retail stockists now across the UK, we continue to grow and bring our kitchens to more homes. Our story, from a small factory in Northern Ireland to becoming a leading kitchen manufacturer, reflects our ongoing commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
