Where Connemara Marble Led the Design
The property had been extended, adding a perched roof and a striking arched window that filled the space with natural light. However, the original kitchen layout remained outdated. Our goal was simple: redesign the space to improve flow, make the most of the light, and create a kitchen that felt calm, functional and quietly luxurious
The starting point for the entire design was a rare slab of Connemara marble, sourced through Lamont Stone.
Instead of choosing the stone to match the kitchen, we designed the kitchen around the stone.
Its rich green tones and natural veining shaped the colour palette, layout and lighting. The island was carefully sized to show the beauty of the slab, while the cabinetry was kept soft and understated to let the marble stand out.
Natural light from the arched window brings the stone to life throughout the day.
A Layout That Works
The renovation involved completely reworking the layout.
We:
Repositioned appliances
Improved sightlines
Created clearer working zones
Strengthened the connection between island, ovens and larder
A prep sink was added beneath the arched window, giving the homeowners a light-filled space for food preparation. It’s now one of the most enjoyed features of the kitchen.
The large island, with an integrated hob, sits at the centre of everything — practical, social and easy to use.
